Transmission - ZF 45C W

This is a NEW ZF 45C 1:1 with the output flange removed  making this a CW version, the W is for Walters Vee-Drive Gear.

This version/part number does NOT include the bolt kit needed to switch from Borg Warner Velvet Drive to ZF, this gear is used to replace an existing ZF 45CW 1:1 gear.

This is a manual cable shift transmission. NOTE: You will need to remove the old output Warner flange/Adapter from the old gear and install it on the new gear, the ZF 45ZW will arrive with the output splined shaft ready to accept the old flange/adapter. A special socket is needed to remove and re-install the ZF locknut. (HINT apply some heat to remove the old locknut and use a long bar rachet and apply smooth hard pressure to remove the nut, do not use an impact)

Set up for Left Hand Prop rotation (Std. rotation)  Shipped Dry, you will need 2 qts of Dextron III  ATF Oil.

It is always recommended to replace the drive damper plate when installing a new transmission.

It is also recommended to clean & blow out the trans oil cooler, or replace if oil was milky in old trans.
