Aerosil is a fumed silica that is used to thicken resins. A little Aerosil can turn resin to a "applesuace" consistance, add more to increase viscosity, can be added to make resin as thick as "peanut butter"

Always remember to catalyze resin after mixing aerosil, another tip, if you have 10 oz. of resin, then add aerosil, mix well and now you have 14 oz. of mixture in your cup, you will catalyze for 10 oz.

NOTE: This product is a VERY lightweight powder, much lighter than powdered sugar, use caution when opening bag, do not open in a windy area or in front of a fan!


For a structural application mix add 50/50 Aerosil and Milled Fibers to the resin.
