Flex Gland by OJ Propeller Co. is a drip-less style Patent Pending design that does NOT require an external water line for cooling. It does not use a carbon face seal that requires specific tension to be maintained for the carbon seal to work. This is a simple system that is better than the traditional stuffing box that requires replacement packing.
NOTE: In order for ANY style of shaft packing box, stuffing box, drip-less box to work, your shaft to engine alignment MUST be correct, ALL ski boats, direct drive, or Vee-drive require that the shaft alignment should be checked annually and adjusted as needed.
NOTE: Manufacturer Recommendation: Designed for double
taper shaft (coupling end is tapered) may be difficult to install &
some cases impossible to install on single taper shafts (coupling end is
not tapered)
Overall Length: 5 1/2" IF NEEDED, 1/2" can be trimmed off the hose connecting to the shaft log
Included:
(1) Flex Gland for 1 1/8" Shaft, includes the bellows hose and insertion sleeve tool.
