The Medallion MDC-1600 is the "Brain" that controls the dash instruments on A/S boats from 1998+ there are a few late model Elans that used the MMDC controller, this will not replace that controller. Also has been used in other ski boat brands used from 1998-2005. Shipped with the 8 page troubleshooting guide and wiring information.
Common Cause for failure is freeze damage to the speedometer sensors, I recommend removing the pitot hoses from the MDC during winterizing, or better yet adding a Tee with drain valves so you don't risk breaking off the small plastic hose barbs on the controller.
NOTE: Beginning 12/23/15 We are shipping the MDC's with the short speedo hose extensions with durable re-usable brass speedo hose extensions. (This allows disconnecting the speedo hose's for winterizing from a more durable connector so you don't crack the MDC connector)
Another cause is reverse battery connections
NOTE: There are no returns allowed on computer related parts like this MDC-1600
