Stainless Steel Safety Collar for 1" diameter drive shafts, positioned approx. 2" ahead of the stuffing box or shaft seal. In the event that a shaft were to slide out of the coupling (typically in reverse) the safety collar stops the shaft from sliding back further and preventing the spinning prop from hitting the rudder.

Note: Most all 1 1/8" dia. shafts and newer 1" shafts are "double taper" with a nut holding the coupling on making the safety collar unnecessary
