Coupling Puller Tool
Heavy Duty Steel Coupling puller, designed for std. 4" and 5" couplings found on most ski boats, can be used for direct drive, or V-drive couplings. Especially useful when removing Vee-drive couplings in tight areas. Supplied with Standard 2" Grade 8 puller push bolt, you supply the connector bolts. On direct drive couplings you can typically use the existing coupling bolts to fasten the tool, on Vee drives you will need longer bolts that vary in length per coupling mfg.
Painted Yellow for easy spotting in the shop, CNC machined, 1/2" thick (1045 steel) shipped with (1) 2" long Grade 8 push bolt.
NEW 9/18/17 Pullers shipped after this date will have (3) different coupling bolt patterns drilled: Std. B/W 4", Std. B/W 5", and now Walters 26 - 3 1/2"
NOTES: When using the puller on the Walters gears with the smaller diameter couplings you will need to thread the transmission mounts to raise the trans end up to allow the puller tool clearance. See insert pics above of using the puller on a Walters Gear using the smaller bolt pattern on the newest generation pullers.
Additional pictures are in a MasterCraft Vee-Drive where the tool is up against the aft end of the fuel tank, our own shop puller, popped this rusty coupler right off. The other 2 pics are of a Walters gear using the new smaller bolt pattern.
Wrench Size Needed: 1 1/8" for base nut & push bolt
