Some Mastercrafts and others place the fuel tank too close to the shaft coupling/trans coupling with less than 2" clearance between them. If you cannot get a std. socket and ratchet on your shaft coupling nut and must use an open-end or box end wrench on the shaft coupling nut you will need this shortened coupling.

This is not a coupling but a modification of the std. coupling by ARE and will ship with your ordered shaft assembly

NOTE: The shortened ARE coupling will not allow the ARE separator nut to be used to press the shaft off the coupling.
